Search it out

Have you ever thought about how animals seem to reflect a humans actions. Or have you ever seen an animal do something strange and then realise “Hey. I’ve done something like that.”

The other day when I was taking flour to garage to put in our freezer, I saw some baby turkeys (with their mothers). Before walking behind one of our vehicles, I stopped to watch them for a while. To me it seemed like one of the babies said to its mother, “Shouldn’t we run from that guy over there?” I chuckled as the mother seemed to say, “No, we should stay here and watch him.”

After a while ,I came out of our garage and saw the turkeys were still in the same spot and I started thinking. I figured if I was a predator, I could easily come up behind them without even a turkey knowing. What does this have to do with the title “Search it out?” Well, there was at least one way for those turkeys to know if I was going to attack. If they would have walked 6 feet forward, they would have seen my every move. One thing I have noticed with turkeys is that they stop whenever they see trouble coming. (This may be good at some times but not when they are crossing the road!)

Now, If I were to ramble on about different tactical ways for those turkeys to protect them selves, or at least know what I was doing, you would loose interest in this article. My reason for saying this is:

We all could take a hint from those turkeys, even me.

Sometimes Christians will just wait around in the wrong spot. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes the lord tells us to wait. But when we wait at the wrong place at the wrong time, it gives the enemy an open attack road. like those turkeys if we would just search things out, without letting our guard down, we can avoid attacks from the enemy.

When ever I think about turkeys I say to my self “Don’t sit around. Find out if you are in the right spot.” This is why it is so important to read our Bibles every day and pray. If we don’t read and pray, we have a broken communication line to our heavenly Father, and if that happens we become vulnerable and easy prey for the Enemy.

Ezekiel 3:17 says:

“Son of man, I have made the a watchman unto the house of Israel:therefor hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say to the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest thou to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, when a righteous man doeth iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

We are watchmen and watchwomen, sent from God to tell the world of His love, and how sin has separated them from Him. If we don’t stay alert we will miss opportunities to tell others about Jesus.

In this dark age we live in “We MUST Carry On.”
